San Mateo, Still a National Awardee as Most Child-Friendly Municipality in the Philippines

PROUDLY SAN MATEO. Si Mayor Crispina R. Agcaoili, M.D. (kanan) katabi si Pangulong Benigno Simeon “Noy-Noy” Aquino III kasama ang iba pang national awardees ng Search for Most Child Friendly Municipalities sa buong kapuluan. (fcn)President Benigno S. Aquino III led the awarding ceremonies for this year's search for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace. A delega-tion led by Honorable Mayor Crispina R. Agcaoili, M.D. and Vice Mayor Roberto Agcaoili attended the said awarding ceremonies last October 28, 2011 at 1:30 p.m.
The Presidential Award is conferred to deserving local government units in recognition of their vital role in promoting children's rights to survival, development, protection and participation as well as in ensuring child-friendly governance.San Mateo bagged the First-Runner up award in the 1st-3rd class category. The five national winners are the Municipality of Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya (4th to 6th Class Municipality); Mariveles, Bataan (1st to 3rd Class Municipality); Vigan City, Ilocos Sur (Component City); Santiago City Isabela Independent Component City); and Mandaluyong City (Highly Urbanized City).
